International Monetary Fund (IMF)

Working in parallel with the City of Vancouver, the International Monetary Fund was one of the earliest proving grounds for Archivematica. Around 2009 the IMF engaged Artefactual Systems to help develop a proof-of-concept preservation system on the emerging platform, contributing to the codebase and to the requirements work that shaped Archivematica's implementation of the OAIS functional model. The collaboration helped the IMF explore a production-ready digital-preservation programme and, alongside Vancouver, showed that a major international institution could help drive an open-source preservation system — an important early signal of confidence for the wider sector.
