Legacy DAMS → Islandora 2.0

The Wolfsonian–FIU

The Wolfsonian–FIU, holding highly visual modern-design material from 1850–1950, worked with the vendor Born-Digital on a fully customised Islandora 2.0 build encompassing 63,000+ top-level objects (including 36,000+ digital-collection objects and 27,000+ library items). A key win was implementing the Mirador viewer with HOCR text overlays — a feature contributed to Islandora 2.0's base install — letting patrons search and select text embedded directly within high-resolution images of historical design documents. A US museum-and-library example of Islandora 2.0 tuned for visual culture.
