CONTENTdm → Islandora

University of Iowa

The University of Iowa moved its digital collections off CONTENTdm to Islandora to extend discovery and reuse, contracting the specialist vendor discoverygarden to manage the migration of over 800,000 items. The multi-year project built detailed data-mapping templates to transition legacy Dublin Core metadata and delivered a cleaner, more responsive search interface with advanced query logic — ending the library's reliance on rigid proprietary displays. A large US university-library example of a vendor-managed CONTENTdm-to-Islandora migration.
