DSpace → Islandora 8

Texas State University

Texas State University kept its DSpace repository for institutional scholarship but stood up a dedicated Islandora 8 repository for complex special-collections material — images, audio and video that displayed poorly in DSpace. The team ran the new installation in Docker and used the Python tool Islandora Workbench to export and crosswalk legacy Dublin Core metadata out of DSpace into Islandora nodes, producing a richly faceted, visually oriented discovery interface. A US example of adopting Islandora 8 alongside DSpace for archival collections.
