Queensland State Archives

Queensland State Archives built an open-source digital archive under the Queensland Government's Digital Archiving Program, delivered by Gaia Resources with consortium partners Hudson Molonglo and Recordkeeping Innovation. Following earlier work on the archival management system (ArchivesSpace), the 2023–24 project integrated ArchivesSpace with Archivematica so that born-digital public records transferred to the archive are preserved for the long term. The system delivers more digital records through the public ArchivesSearch interface and writes Archival Information Packages into redundant Australian cloud storage. A significant Oceania example of a state government pairing an open-source archival catalogue with open-source digital preservation.
