Archivists' Toolkit → ArchivesSpace

Yale University

Yale University carried out one of the most thoroughly documented migrations from Archivists' Toolkit to ArchivesSpace, consolidating archival description from across its libraries into the open-source successor platform. Led by Maureen Callahan, the project team published a detailed step-by-step account of how the migration was organised, the tools and SQL scripts used to transform legacy data, and the lessons learned along the way — resources that have since been shared through the community's 'awesome-archivesspace' list and reused by other institutions. Yale's openness about both the process and its pitfalls has made it a standard reference for large academic ArchivesSpace migrations.
