Migrated to Hyku

Pacific University

Pacific University, a small liberal arts institution, migrated its CommonKnowledge institutional repository from bepress Digital Commons to the open-source Hyku platform, hosted by Ubiquity Repositories. The move was prompted by Elsevier's 2017 acquisition of bepress, which put the library's open-access commitments at odds with its repository provider. The migration is documented in a peer-reviewed Journal of Librarianship and Scholarly Communication article, "Digital Commons to Hyku: An Institutional Repository Migration at a Small Liberal Arts University." As part of the transition the library rationalised its publishing programme, moving some journals to OJS, while gaining an open, vendor-neutral repository aligned with its mission of unrestricted scholarship.
