Medicine Anthropology Theory (University of Edinburgh)
Medicine Anthropology Theory (MAT), founded in 2014 by scholars at the University of Amsterdam, migrated in 2020 to the University of Edinburgh Library's journal-hosting service, 'Edinburgh Diamond', which runs on open-source OJS. The move took MAT fully open access under a Diamond model — charging neither subscription fees to libraries nor article-processing charges to authors — with the library providing the technical infrastructure, analytics and indexing support (including DOAJ). A UK example of an independent journal adopting a university library's open-source OJS service to sustain diamond open access.
