DSpace → Islandora

Czech Digital Mathematics Library (DML-CZ)

The Czech Digital Mathematics Library (DML-CZ) originally ran on DSpace but hit architectural limits with its JSP/XMLUI components when trying to implement the highly specific customisations needed to index complex mathematical content. The library migrated to Islandora to gain the decoupled flexibility of its APIs and Drupal's interface — accepting a more involved Docker/Ansible setup in exchange for the structural freedom to render and interlink specialised mathematical datasets. A Czech disciplinary-library example of moving from DSpace to Islandora for customisation headroom.
