Adopted Hyku

British Library Shared Research Repository

The British Library leads a multi-tenant Hyku deployment, the Shared Research Repository, hosted by CoSector (University of London), to support UK Independent Research Organisations that generate significant research but historically lacked university-scale IT to host it. Partner heritage institutions include the British Museum and Tate, operating as discrete tenants under a single Hyku instance with a unified discovery layer. The shared model lets these organisations meet UK open-access mandates and publish complex outputs — datasets, exhibition and research records — on common open-source infrastructure rather than each building a bespoke system. The Samvera community's implementations register documents it as a multi-tenant Hyku service.
