Kete → Islandora 8

Archives Central (MWLASS)

Archives Central — the shared archive of nine councils in New Zealand's Manawatū-Whanganui region (MWLASS) — replaced the ageing Kete system, which had lost community support, with Islandora 8, working with Catalyst IT. The team migrated over 210,000 records (including thousands of digitised images and documents) using Drupal's migrate framework, and Archives Central was among the first institutions worldwide to model its records with the International Council on Archives' Records in Contexts (RiC) ontology as linked data. A pioneering New Zealand example of Islandora used for records management.
