African Journal of Information and Communication (Wits)

The African Journal of Information and Communication (AJIC), published by the University of the Witwatersrand, migrated its archives into the ASSAf Khulisa Journals OJS platform. Centralisation enabled substantial metadata enrichment — ORCID updates and Crossref DOI deposits — and monthly article views roughly doubled (from 3,506 to 7,684) within a year, demonstrating the discoverability gains of a shared OJS infrastructure. A South African example of a university journal boosting reach by moving onto a national open-source portal.
