Adopted Mukurtu

Zuni Tribal Archives (Pueblo of Zuni)

The Zuni Tribal Archives, serving the A:shiwi (Zuni) people, runs on the open-source Mukurtu platform, combining standard Dublin Core metadata with customisable Traditional Knowledge fields. The archive preserves textual and governmental records alongside traditional arts, language and cultural resources, using Mukurtu's cultural protocols and TK Labels to manage access appropriately both online and offline. A US Pueblo example of adopting Mukurtu to protect the community's intellectual and cultural property while enabling appropriate access for its own members.
