Adopted Mukurtu

Te Pūtē Routiriata o Taranaki (Te Reo o Taranaki Trust)

Te Pūtē Routiriata o Taranaki, the archive of the Te Reo o Taranaki Charitable Trust in Aotearoa New Zealand, is a pan-tribal Māori archive supporting Taranaki reo (language) and cultural revitalisation. Its archive manager developed the collection on the open-source Mukurtu Indigenous content-management system, which lets Taranaki whānau manage taonga kōrero and mātauranga under community control. The work is closely tied to the digital repatriation of alienated taonga, including a historic collection of confiscated Māori-to-Māori Taranaki letters. A Māori example of adopting Mukurtu for language revitalisation and Indigenous data sovereignty.
