CALM → AtoM

Explore York Libraries and Archives

Explore York Libraries and Archives (EYLA) migrated close to 160,000 catalogue entries from an existing CALM installation into a hosted AtoM instance. The project was delivered with a bespoke, branded AtoM interface designed to harmonise with the organisation's existing identity, and demonstrated that a large legacy CALM database could be moved into open-source infrastructure at scale. The migration used an automated crosswalk tool to convert and consolidate CALM data into ISAD(G)-compliant CSV before ingest. For public archives and record offices holding six-figure catalogues, EYLA is a concrete example that collection size alone is not a barrier to adopting AtoM.
