Adopted InvenioRDM

California Institute of Technology (CaltechDATA)

Caltech runs its research-data repository, CaltechDATA, on InvenioRDM, with the Research Organization Registry (ROR) integrated for organisational identifiers. In a ROR case study, research-data specialist Tom Morrell describes using RORRetriever, an automated tool from Metadata Game Changers, to map the library's legacy free-text affiliation strings to standardised ROR IDs, with librarian review before ingest. Notably the migration was selective: Caltech's thesis repository still runs on EPrints, while the data repository moved to InvenioRDM — so this is a data-repository adoption, not a wholesale platform switch. ROR is now integrated across both systems, improving affiliation accuracy and funder reporting.
