Universidad Nacional de La Plata (SEDICI)

The Universidad Nacional de La Plata established its SEDICI repository in 2003 and migrated it to DSpace in 2012, where it became a major node in the Latin American open-access network. The repository leans heavily on DSpace's native Solr indexing to manage an enormous volume of usage data: its statistical core functions as a historical log of every view, download and search since 2012 — over 195 million discrete records. The migration let the university handle that analytical scale while staying fully compliant with regional open-access aggregation networks. An Argentine example of DSpace operating at massive data scale.
