National Library of Technology (NTK)
The National Library of Technology (NTK) in Prague migrated its institutional digital repository from the ageing Invenio 1 platform to DSpace 7. In a reversal of the wider trend toward Invenio-family systems, NTK's driver was pragmatic: it lacked the internal technical staff to keep maintaining a complex, bespoke Python framework, and DSpace 7 offered a more predictable, widely supported path aligned with its staffing realities. The case is a useful counterpoint — platform choice is shaped as much by local maintenance capacity as by feature sets, and DSpace 7 remained the open-source option that fit NTK's team.
