Custom database → Omeka S

Université Gustave Eiffel

To simplify maintenance of a highly specialised historical database on the civic priests of the Roman imperial cult, Université Gustave Eiffel partnered with the LeCube agency to migrate away from an ageing, custom-coded database into Omeka S. The data was transposed directly into Omeka S resource templates and hosted on France's Huma-Num national research infrastructure, giving the project long-term technical stability without losing its relational complexity. A French digital-humanities example of retiring bespoke, hard-to-maintain code in favour of a standards-based open-source platform backed by national infrastructure.
