Legacy database → Omeka S

CY Cergy Paris Université (LT2D)

The 'Musée Virtuel des Dictionnaires', a lexicographical research resource first established in 2002, underwent a major modernisation at CY Cergy Paris Université. Its large historical dataset was migrated onto an Omeka S server to gain structured metadata, a stable modern database, and collaborative enrichment through the METALEX network — transforming a static, twenty-year-old resource into a dynamic semantic-web application. It is a telling example of the wider pattern of early-2000s academic web projects being rescued and modernised on Omeka S for both preservation and renewed scholarly use.
